We would like to welcome you to our bed and breakfast accommodation.
First of all thank you for visiting our website. Here is a bit of background information.
The White Horse is a former Grade II public house which has now finally closed its doors to become a private home. It is situated in the heart of the Suffolk countryside with plenty of country walks and fresh air. Not too far from a railway station, Stowmarket, allowing good access to London. There are several surrounding villages with good public houses serving meals and the Crown at Bildeston has a fine dining restaurant. More information can be found on our location page.
We have lived here for over 11 years and have retired from the licensing trade but have decided to continue the bed and breakfast part of the business as this is something we enjoy. We have run the bed and breakfast since 2010 and pride ourselves in making our guests comfortable. We have received many kind comments over the years which you are most welcome to read.
We have our own resident dog, Toby, who loves attention. He may bark but his tail never stops wagging. He is a rescue who was found wandering around Norwich. He eventually ended up at a local council rehoming centre in the next village, and luckily for him (and us), he ended up here. That was over 3 years ago now.
Please feel free to browse the rest of the site. Hopefully you will like what you see and will come and stay with us.
Until then please accept our kind regards.
Ann and Richard Lewis
